MANAGEMENT AND BOARD OF ADVISORS

Chief Executive Officer

Elli M. A. Mills, Manager, Chief Executive Officer. Mr. Mills has been a senior executive active in the management of mining companies for the last fifteen years. He is CEO of Mineral Ventures, LLC, a position he has held since 1999, and is president of Desert Holding Corporation, which holds mineral leases on gold properties in Northern Mexico. Previously, he served as President of Lion Trail Minerals, Inc., which operated an underground, hard rock gold property in Shasta County, California. Prior to that, Mr. Mills was President of Mineral Resources, Inc., which conducted exploration for gold and other precious metal properties in the western United States, Alaska, and Mexico. He served as President of Zephyr Rock and Lime, Inc., a company that operated a construction aggregate quarry in central Florida.

Mr. Mills previously held the position as a Chapter 11 Trustee in the United States Bankruptcy Court for the District of Nevada and serves as Court Appointed Receiver for the United States District Court, District of Nevada, and the District Court of the State of Nevada.

Mr. Mills is a graduate of Brandeis University, Waltham, Massachusetts, where he received an A. B. in Political Science. He received a Juris Doctor degree from New York University School of Law and has been admitted to practice law in New York State and the District of Columbia. He also holds a Masters in Business Administration degree from Harvard University.
 


Board of Advisors

Michael G. Nelson, Ph.D. Dr. Nelson is an Associate Professor of Mining Engineering, University of Utah, and Chairman of the Mining Engineering Department at that institution.

Formerly, he served as Director of Research and Process Engineering, EIMCO Process Equipment Company, and Director of Technology, Pyramid Resources, Inc. In both of these positions, Dr. Nelson has been on the cutting edge of development and implementation of new technologies for the mining and mineral processing industries. Previously, Dr. Nelson was a Professor of Mining Engineering, University of Alaska, Fairbanks.

Dr. Nelson brings extensive experience in mining, mine development, and mineral processing technology, as well as a wealth of experience in the business aspects of the mineral development industry to the Mineral Ventures' Board of Advisors.


D. Erik Spiller. Mr. Spiller is Vice President and Principal Metallurgist with Tetra Tech's Global Mining Practice located in Golden, Colorado. He is a graduate of the Colorado School of Mines. Mr. Spiller is a Mining and Metallurgical Society of America Qualified Professional (QP) as well as a Registered Qualified Professional by the Society of Mining, Metallurgy and Exploration (SME).

Mr. Spiller has more than 40 years of experience holding senior technical and executive management positions at Hazen Research, Newmont Mining, Washington Group, and Outotec. His responsibilities were in the areas of research, operations, engineering, equipment supply, and senior organizational management.

In addition to his current position with Tetra Tech, Mr. Spiller is also an appointed Research Professor at the Colorado School of Mines where he lectures in mineral beneficiation and directs graduate students conducting research in areas of mineral processing.

Mr. Spiller brings to Mineral Ventures extensive experience in mineral processing, mining, and in the management of mining and mineral industry enterprises.


Tommy B. Thompson, Ph.D. Dr. Thompson is a Full Professor of Economic Geology, Department of Geological Sciences & Engineering in the Mackay School of Earth Sciences & Engineering, University of Nevada, Reno.

In addition to his classroom and research activities, Dr. Thompson was the former and founding Director of the Ralph Roberts Center for Research in Economic Geology. In this position, he worked closely with industry leaders who sponsored research projects for graduate students in the Department of Geological Sciences at the Mackay School of the University of Nevada, Reno. He is a Certified Geologist by the American Institute of Professional Geologists, AIPG, and a Registered Qualified Professional by the Society of Mining, Metallurgy and Exploration (SME).

Dr. Thompson has an extensive geological consulting practice. Current clients include Goldcorp, Tahoe Resources, McClelland Laboratories, and Romarco Minerals, Inc.

Dr. Thompson brings extensive knowledge and experience in economic geology, geological exploration, and the effective management of geological exploration to the Mineral Ventures' Board.


Daniel E. Walsh. Mr. Walsh is an Emeritus Professor, Mineral Industry Research Laboratory - University of Alaska Fairbanks. He is a Registered Professional Engineer and has conducted extensive research into the recovery of gold and other heavy metals from placer deposits and has extensive experience in the evaluation and analysis of these resources.

Professor Walsh brings to Mineral Ventures comprehensive industry and academic experience in the evaluation of placer gold properties, in the technology of gravity concentration, and in the evaluation, design, and operations of gold recovery operations.
